Brokering:

Mountain Ash our brokering services is two fold.

First, if you have one or more alpacas to sell our brokering service is simple and straightforward. If you have an alpaca that you would like us to sell there is no upfront fee. When we find a client for your Alpacas we get 10% of the sale cost.

As I have worked with local alpaca farms it is clear that most do not have the time or the skill needed to successfully market their alpaca. I am offering a great opportunity for small farms and alpaca owners to develop strong, positive marketing to sell their alpacas.

Second, if you want to purchase an alpaca I will help you find the 'right' one. I focus on new farms, and try to ensure long-term support and mentoring from the selling farm. There is no fee to the buyer, as the seller pays them. I am committed to providing my clients with the best alpaca for the price they can pay.

Although I am new to this side of the industry I have developed a good reputation for being honest and working hard. At Mountain Ash alpacas are more than just a commodity. They are a valued and important part of our lives.

We specialize in brokering alpacas from Maine and New England.

You have nothing to lose, and a lot to gain.

Paca Poo:

Good soil health and optimal growth is dependent upon proper nutrient management. One of the major objectives of a good nutritional management program is the use of fertilizer. This results in sufficient quantity of nutrients in the soil available to plants, and hence the yield in not limited. Alpaca manure is an excellent organic fertilizer, and its use could be a key ingredient in soil recovery. A large part of this regions economic development depends on the success of agriculture and the increased productivity of the land.

“Manure has always been a major part of agriculture. Before the advent of chemical fertilizers, most agriculture used manure as a source of nutrients for crops. When farmers turned to fertilizers instead of manure, they lost all of the other benefits of manure, including building soil fertility and soil structure. Fertilizers simply provide nutrients to the present crop. Many research institutions that spent many decades pushing fertilizer are now turning back to manure and manure products for just this reason.” Eric Sideman, Ph.D., Director of Technical Services for MOFGA.

Manure is the oldest fertilizer source. It is widely used, and is the backbone of organic fertilization programs.
